What are HTML entities?
HTML entities is a piece of text (string) that begins with an ampersand (&) and ends with a semicolon (;) . The HTML entities are represented by an entity name and by an entity number. The entity number begins with “&#” instead of only “&”.
These HTML entities are most frequently used to display HTML reserved characters. Indeed, without HTML entities they will be interpreted as HTML code.
HTML entities are also useful for invisible characters like non-breaking spaces, but also for characters that are not present on the keyboard. Any Unicode characters can be represented with HTML entities, by using only ASCII characters, but it should only be used when it is really needed, and so in the cases emphasized above.
